Strategies for Designing Asynchronous Learning Experiences

A high quality online course without live sessions goes beyond assigned readings and required discussions. Asynchronous learning experiences give students an opportunity to connect and learn at different times. When designed well, learners are able to demonstrate the ability to create rich, authentic, and engaging learning experiences. In this four-week course, you will be able to design asynchronous learning activities that will engage students and align to the objectives and outcomes of your course.

This Asynchronous Learning Foundations course will guide you in creating a sense of connection between all students and building a community of shared purpose. Your expert instructors will show you how to enhance engagement, collaboration and feedback using educational technology tools. You will apply your new knowledge to create meaningful and engaging learning activities and authentic assessments to add rich texture and context to your learning units.

Through reimagining the possibilities of teaching, you can create highly personalized experiences for your learners like never before. This learning experience will empower you to create artifacts that demonstrate your understanding and mastery of creating asynchronous online learning activities which can be added to your portfolio.

By the end of this course, you will have earned a digital badge to provide evidence of your newly acquired skills in asynchronous activity design.  If you decide to enroll in four courses of our LX Live series, we’ll reduce the cost of the LX Pathways portfolio experience from $750 to $375 so you can build and enhance your online presence immediately.

This cohort-based and facilitated course will help you transition your traditional pedagogy to asynchronous online learning. Gaining this timely professional development badge will showcase your advanced learning in emerging trends and technologies and help you stand out from peers.
